Chapter 31
Ever since the surgery was confirmed, Sophia had been more anxious than me. She stayed by my side every day and focused on preparing different delicious food for me.
Although I didn't have much of an appetite, I managed to eat quite a bit of the food she made.
In order to make me less nervous, George made an exception and let me walk around to take my mind off things.
I would sit on the swing at the hospital's backyard every day, watching the distant scenery and counting the days until the day of surgery.
Sophia bought me a cactus on the day of my surgery and placed it on my bedside table.
She smiled brightly and said, "I hope you will be as resilient as this cactus and continue to live."
I grinned and nodded as I happily accepted her kind wishes.
I quickly lost my consciousness as I lay on the operating table.
While I was in a dreamlike state, I seemed to have returned to my college days, where I met Abigail for the first time.
