Chapter 203
"I don't know. Why don't you just say it?" I countered.
My tone was calm—too calm, apparently. Abigail's expression grew visibly darker, her frustration written all over her face.
"Samuel, I can't believe you'd stoop this low!" she snapped, pointing a finger at me. "I told you before—this is between us. Leave Joshua out of it! Stop dragging other people into our mess."
I couldn't help but laugh when I heard her say that I was dragging people into our mess.
Of all people, Abigail knew exactly what Joshua was capable of. Yet, she chose to ignore the truth and instead clung to his fake sob stories.
Sometimes, I had to admire Joshua's talent. He could perform like an award-winning actor right in front of her, putting on the perfect helpless, innocent act. If he had poured that same energy into acting, he'd probably already have an award by now.
I let out a dry laugh and shook my head, looking at Abigail with a resigned smile. "I get it."
My indifference seemed to irritate
