Before leaving, Abigail shot me a furious glare, as if she was blaming me for deliberately making things hard for her precious lover.
Suppressing the anger boiling inside me, I followed them both downstairs to the trash bins.
The stench was overwhelming, with spills and foul-smelling liquid pooling around the area.
Joshua took a few hesitant steps toward the bins, immediately covering his nose and mouth, grimacing in disgust. "Oh my God, it reeks. How am I supposed to find anything in there?"
He shook his head and stepped back, turning to Abigail with a whiny tone. "Abigail, maybe I could just go to the store and buy some new things to give to Samuel instead?"
