Chapter 60 : Pawn
My grandpa leaned back in the armchair with a sigh. Something was weighing on his mind.
"I shouldn't have asked you to look for your family. It's all my fault," my uncle said, clasping his hand behind his back, clearly displeased with my decision to meet Elric.
"It's too dangerous, Bailey," my grandpa warned. "Though Athereld will go together with you, I can't help getting apprehensive. That man is a lunatic. How can I let him lurk around you?" Tensed lines appeared on his forehead.
"Don't worry," I said, grabbing my uncle's wrist and making him sit by my grandpa.
I crouched before my uncle and grandpa, taking both their hands in mine. Their eyes met mine as I put a little pressure on them, assuring them.
"I grew up delivering food to the worst likely places. I have dealt with a lot of ominous people in my life. How do you think I survived all these years? Elric can't be worse than the customers firing guns over cold fries,'' I said, beaming at the two worried men.
