Chapter 57 : Gone
As we entered the packhouse, I found my grandpa on his knees. His face shoved into his palms as he snarled shortly, making the entire place quaver.
Athereld couldn't move for a while as he had never seen the Alpha Lord lose control. Heart-wrenching sobs wracked my grandpa's body. I hastily kneeled by my grandpa, pulling him into my arms, murmuring assurances in his hair.
"My daughter- daughter.." my grandpa struggled to form the words as he covered his face with his palms again, red-rimmed eyes dried of tears.
"I am here, Grandpa," I said, cupping my grandpa's face and meeting his eyes. "Look, I am here, your granddaughter," I said, failing to comprehend what could break my grandpa like that.
My grandpa was as if incapable of distinguishing anything as he continued to stare into space with his tear-filled eyes.
