Chapter Fifty : Happy New Year
When I opened my eyes, I was in the hospital. I blinked a few times, wondering how I had ended up there.
Caspian was by my side, waiting patiently, burying his face in his palms. "Bailey!" Noticing I was awake, he took my hand in his impatiently.
"Athereld," I said. "How is he? I met his wolf in a dark place. It was very dark." I tried to get up.
Caspian's face darkened at my question. He pressed his lips together, letting out an exasperated sigh shortly. "Don't worry about him. Athereld has recovered from that injury. You lost consciousness after healing him," Caspian answered calmly.
I looked away, recalling I had marked Athereld in front of Caspian. I thought Caspian would be mad at me; however, I was relieved that Caspian seemed chill about the incident. Regardless, I couldn't meet Caspian's eyes, as I felt guilty for acting recklessly without considering my mate's feelings.
"I am sorry," I said in a tiny voice, looking away.
I didn't know how I could explain the situation
