Chapter Forty-Seven : Fate
Caspian lost consciousness when my grandpa placed his palm over his eyes, his body going as it fell into my grandpa's arms.
My grandpa didn't want to risk another of Caspian's breakdowns again. Caspian would destroy the city with us if he went on another rampage.
Hence, gently placing Caspian's body aside, my grandpa rushed to Athereld. As the corpse of the Oracle turned into ashes, the sword on Athereld's chest faded, making him throw up blood.
"Why aren't you healing yourself? Aren't you a doctor? Tell me what I need to do. How to save you?" I asked, panicking, cupping Athereld's face.
With concern and grief written all over my face, I forced Athereld's blurred eyes to meet mine. I couldn't afford to lose Athereld, not when he decided to sacrifice his life for our sakes.
Athereld put his palm over the hole in his chest, smiled at me weakly, and said, "I don't think I can do that."
Athereld lost consciousness as his body fell on my lap, as my entire body froze.
