“You must wake the divine spirits, Bailey. We need it to prove the prophecy. If it turns out to be true that you and Caspian are blessed, you’ll have to lead the shrine,” Athereld said, covering my arm with the elastic wrap.
I curled up in a ball at the corner of my bed, extending my one arm to Athereld as he continued to wrap it. Athereld explained the earlier kiss, claiming it was required to give me the proper dose of the medicine.
However, it didn’t sound convincing as I shoved my head on the blanket, unable to face Athereld. He paused for a moment, staring at me.
Athereld sighed exhaustedly and asked, “It’s hard taking care of a ball growing its limbs, Bailey. Can you not?”
I straightened my body awkwardly, refusing to turn to Athereld, and made circles on the bed sheet, looking away.
“That wasn’t of any significance, Bailey. Please, don’t feel troubled,” he said, proceeding with his job again.
“How to awaken those spirits?” I questioned. “I don’t think I can do it,’’ I said
