55. LOVE

~ Damon ~ Violet opened her eyes and found Damon staring right at her. She gasped in shock and pulled away instantly. She was staring at him in disbelief, not knowing how to react. But Damon, on the other hand, was as cool as a cucumber.  “Who said that you could stop?” he said, though his voice was weak and coarse. “Damon?!” she gaped. “You’re awake!” Violet’s hand went to cover her mouth and her eyes were filled with tears. Happy tears. She stared at him for another moment, and once she got a good enough look at him, she lunged her hands around his neck to hug him.  Damon stifled a laugh and stroked her hair in response. “Wow, are you that happy to see me?” he said. “Of course,” she sobbed into his chest. “I’ve missed you so much,” Damon smiled and held onto her tighter. “I’ve missed you too, sweet girl,” Hearing him calling her with that name, Violet sobbed even harder into his chest. Damon realized how Violet must be so worried about him. The last thing he remembered was falling as
