Chapter 9: The Report
Faced with Eden's questioning, Sarina's eyes briefly flickered with panic, but she quickly regained her composure.
"What could I possibly be hiding from you?" she chuckled lightly, freeing her wrist from Eden's grip.
Her tone was calm, as if nothing had happened.
But Eden still keenly sensed something amiss. He scoffed, a cold glint flashing in his eyes. "Do you really think you can deceive me like this?"
He leaned in closer, catching a whiff of Sarina's familiar scent, which he always liked, but now it had a hint of something unfamiliar.
He furrowed his brows. "What did you spray in the room?"
Sarina glanced at the perfume on the table. "Just a little perfume, good for sleep."
She explained, flashing a gentle smile, as if that was the truth.
But the calmer Sarina appeared, the more Eden felt something was off.
"Back to the point, what about that report?"
At the mention of the report, Sarina's heart skipped a beat. She blinked innocent
