Chapter 29 The Hunt
Vincent came closer and placed his hand behind my neck. He pulled me in closer. "I'm the king. I'll have whoever I want!"
I shrugged him off. He has truly gone mad.
He looked at me as if he had lost all interest in me. "Don't ever provoke a man. You'll only get hurt."
I hugged myself tightly, forcing myself to calm down.
"Leave!" He barked. I looked at him and my heart sank. Not any different than others? How was he not different from others considering what happened that day by the cliff and by the rooftop?
Tears fell from my eyes. I looked at Vincent, feeling disappointed, but he did not look at me. Was he feeling sheepish?
I wiped away my tears. I mustered all the courage I had left to say, "Yes, Your Majesty. I am your subject, and I will always be. Please remember that Queen Diana did not say those things on purpose. Please try to understand her."
Vincent replied with his head lowered, "Alright, I understand. I won't make things difficult for her."
I turned to leav
