I tried to soothe Vincent's emotions too. "Your Majesty, please don't get upset. Surely Her Majesty wouldn't do that. Look at me. I'm still fine, right?"
I could see a hint of worry on Vincent's face, albeit for only a split moment.
Vincent said to me reproachfully, "Jasmine, you are now the Princess of Houghton. Even the Queen can't make you her servant. You are being protected by the Houghtons. Please know your own status. Houghton is a place where everyone is equal."
Although he sounded reproachful, he was, in fact, showing concern.
Diana did not seem to have come to her senses. She was still looking at me gloatingly. She held Vincent's arm once more. "Alright, Vincent. Don't get angry at Jasmine. She knows her mistake. Please forgive her."
I secretly chuckled.
Vincent was still glaring at Diana. He shrugged her off.
Diana's hypocrisy was truly disgusting. She stopped making a fool out of herself. She walked over to Vincent and held my arm, pretending to be very close
