Chapter 256 Returning to the Mansion
The investigators glanced at me, exchanged a look with the soldier, and nodded in unison before stepping back. I pulled out the short knife I had bought earlier and swiftly charged towards the nearest lynx.
Before the lynx could react, it had not even made a sound before my knife pierced its throat. It struggled in my grip for a moment before gradually going still.
Witnessing their companion's demise, the other lynxes, agitated by the scent of blood, roared and rushed toward me.
"Be careful, Jasmine!" Kelly's voice echoed from behind.
Maintaining a composed expression, I focused on the fastest approaching lynx. A quick evasion, a swift twist, and my short knife plunged into the leaping lynx's abdomen. My aim was at the approximate location of its heart.
