Chapter 246 Sick
When I saw the pair of brothers, I could roughly guess how Arthur had saved them.
Most likely, he had used a substitute.
I fell silent for a moment before I asked, "Who did you use as a substitute for them?"
Arthur shrugged. "I guess I can't hide anything from you. I just got someone who's about to die in the prison anyway to take their place."
It was as I expected.
I still felt somewhat conflicted about it.
Like Maclaine told me, it was very hard to get the best of both worlds. However, I could not convince myself to remain indifferent to people who could have lived being sentenced to death unjustly due to external reasons.
Crimes vary in magnitude, and those with lesser crimes should be given the chance to reform themselves.
Of course, I could not claim that I was completely just. Even if it was the same crime, I could not sentence every sinner equally.
I could already imagine my reaction if the person in front of me was Diana.
She did not deserve my forgiveness.
