Chapter 362: Dunes Indeed

At many points on the first day, Irana genuinely considered simply driving west, towards the coastal cities instead. At least nobody there would know he was an alpha's son, and the journey was, similarly, just as long. But every single time she closed her eyes, she remembered Avantica’s words:
"The alpha just wants his child back. Especially now that he knows his son is alive. And knowing my children, they will tell somebody who will tell somebody what they’ve seen, and there’s a high chance Balan will come after you, especially after a few days. Don’t make the bad decision, my darling. Go and give the man his child. That should alleviate his grief."
And so, there she was, driving through the desert in her rickety truck, mostly open due to the fact that it was held together by literal metal threads and wires.
The sun began to beat down on her back like a drum, but at least the baby was fine. That was all she could think about, at least until her mind would start to implod
