Chapter 299: Overhead
Frederick
Stefano led him to his home, several miles away, though the ride felt uncomfortably long. Frederick spent the entire journey staring out the window, feeling the weight pressing further and further on him. Was it because of the dream? he wondered, thinking long and hard.
"What dream?" he muttered aloud, suddenly realizing Stefano was staring at him.
"The dream," Stefano repeated. "You mentioned you had a dream. Do you want to share it?"
Frederick decided there was no harm in telling him. After all, what could be worse?
"That’s insane," Stefano said when Frederick finished. "Suddenly, this entire car feels... terrible. I was right. In the brightness of the Pack building, I could see it better, but here it’s a bit blurry. There’s definitely something around you—like a black fog."
"How is she?" Stefano asked, his voice filled with concern.
"Just as bad as I am... maybe worse. She’s struggling, Stefano. It’s like she can’t find herself anymore." Frederick’s voice cracked. "
