Chapter 156: Murder in his Eyes

I widened my eyes when I could literally smell the murderous intent coming from Baron. I jumped off the table and wrapped my arms around his back.
"My love," I said. "Please."
He stopped and visibly relaxed. Stefano, who looked as though he had truly seen a ghost, stood with his hands raised in front of him.
"Baron," I said as I came around and looked at him. "Nothing is going to happen," I said, smiling up at him and not caring about the way his red eyes glowed as he glared at Stefano.
"Don't kill him," I said. "He is my brother's friend, and he was once my friend too."
Baron calmed down and then winked at me. "Come inside," he said to Stefano, who looked as though he was walking straight into a trap he was aware of.
"You are going to be fine," I said. "You are going to be fine," I repeated myself as I sat on Baron's lap when he pulled me downwards. "Frederick sent a letter that you brought us. I didn't think he was going to send you as a hostage."
