637: FLOODING BACK
LUKE'S POV
I couldn't believe my eyes - Ariel was standing in the middle of the field. She grasped the mic tightly, scanning the crowd with her mesmerizing eyes. However, amidst the sea of people, she didn't spot me. I couldn't blame her; the crowd was overwhelming. But even if she did see me, what would happen?
Would she freeze in shock? Would she drop the mic and come to me? But realistically, that was unlikely. Our current circumstances didn't allow for such a reunion. Despite my feelings, I knew there was no longer a connection between us. I couldn't deny the resentment she harbored towards me, even after five long years. She must have moved on and found someone else.
A difference that I couldn't deny. Despite our divorce, Ariel was more stunning than ever. Her features were sharper, her hair longer and shinier, her smile brighter. My heart raced as I remembered the last time I saw her, the day she left me. But now, seeing her like this, I couldn't help but regret losing her.
