ARIEL'S POV
And with that, I delivered a resounding slap across his cheek, the sound reverberating through the shop like a crack of thunder. The man let out a yelp of pain, but I didn't relent. Not until I was sure he understood the gravity of his actions, not until I was sure he wouldn't dare to lay a finger on another woman ever again.
The onlookers gasped in horror as the man crumpled to the ground, clutching his cheek in agony. But I didn't stick around to bask in their shock. With a final glare in the man's direction, I released my grip and stormed out of the shop, the bell above the door chiming in protest as I slammed it shut behind me.
Out there, I barely had a chance to catch my breath before I felt a strong hand clamp down on my arm. I whirled around to face the man who had dared to touch me again, my eyes blazing with fury.
But before I could even utter a word, he leaned in close, his breath hot against my ear as he whispered words that sent a shiver down my spine.
