453: A TIME FOR COMFORT
ARIEL'S POV
"Where do you think I'm going?" I retorted, raising an eyebrow at Luke.
He shook his head, a painful expression crossing his face. "I don't know; that's why I'm asking," he replied.
I couldn't help but chuckle bitterly at his response. "Don't worry, Luke. I'm not going to cheat on you," I said, the bitterness evident in my tone. "And please, don't blow me up with phone calls."
After that, I turned around once more and began to make my way out of the mansion. I reached the door. I glanced back at Luke one last time. He didn't take his eyes off me, so I turned my face away before leaving.
Climbing into a waiting car, I drove past the gate, leaving the mansion and all its fucked-up emotions behind me.
The vibrant neon lights of the city blurred past me as I drove away from the mansion, the cool night air washing over me like a balm for my troubled soul. Each passing street lamp seemed to whisper secrets of the night.
