425: RACE AGAINST TIME
ARIEL'S POV
Without a second thought, I threw open the door and rushed to Luke's side, my heart pounding in my ears. "Luke! Luke, can you hear me?" I called out, my voice trembling with fear.
But there was no response. Luke lay there, pale and still, his breathing shallow and labored. My hands shook as I reached out to touch him, praying for some sign of life.
And then, to my relief, I felt a faint pulse beneath my fingers. Tears filled my eyes as I realized that Luke was still alive, even though he was still unconscious.
With shaking hands, I fumbled for my phone and dialed emergency services, my voice frantic as I pleaded for help. Within minutes, the sound of sirens filled the air as an ambulance raced to our location.
As I waited for help to arrive, I kneeled beside Luke, my heart heavy with worry. How had this happened? What had caused him to end up lying unconscious on the ground?
But for now, those questions could wait. All that mattered was getting Luke the help he needed
