417: GLIMPSES OF THE PAST
ARIEL'S POV
Luke just mentioned the little boy's name, and it was obvious that he was dreaming about our late son. The memories with Luke would always be in my head.
Right now, Luke was in so much stress; the strain was really clear, with the way he was all sweaty and the way he was shaking.
I gently shook Luke awake, my heart aching at the sight of him in distress. "Luke, sweetheart, wake up," I whispered, my voice soft and soothing.
He stirred, his eyes fluttering open but still clouded with remnants of his troubled dreams. "Ariel?" he murmured, his voice heavy with sleep.
"Yeah, it's me," I replied, brushing his hair away from his forehead. "You were having a bad dream. But it's over now; you're safe with me."
He blinked up at me, confusion evident in his gaze. "I was dreaming? I... can't remember."
"It's okay, love," I gently reassured him, squeezing his hand. "Sometimes dreams can be like that—fuzzy and hard to recall. But whatever it was, it's gone now."
