ARIEL'S POV
I snuggled closer to Luke, my head resting on his chest. The rhythmic sound of his heartbeat lulled me into a state of tranquility. I traced circles on his bare chest with my fingers, feeling the warmth of his skin under my touch. The lovely and exhausting moment was still in my head, and indeed, it was times like these that made all the chaos and stress of life disappear. I close my eyes and take a deep breath, savoring and soaking up every bit of this blissful moment.
"So, how was work today?" Luke asked, caressing my hair.
"Just normal. Nothing remarkable. What about you? Your day's been going great, right?"

"Why not?" I glanced at him.
