Chapter 4

Darko let out another pained yelp. Its head was crushed by Atlas' foot at the next moment. Blood and gore soon coated the floor. Atlas was enraged, to say the least. Tabitha, who was lying on the floor, cracked open her eyes weakly. Tears welled up in her eyes once again. He… was here. Was she in hell? Why was this world so unfair to her? She was already dead, yet she still had to meet the demon who had single-handedly pushed her into the abyss. At the same time, Atlas noticed the hatred flashing in Tabitha's eyes. What he said next made her snap out of her trance. "I'm back." Tabitha's eyes went dull when she heard that statement. Atlas added, "Relax. I saved Stacy's life as well." A glint was restored to Tabitha's eyes. Was this not hell? Was that man really Atlas? Tabitha wasn't happy at all, despite knowing that Atlas had saved her life. After she got up to her feet, the first thing she did was slap him in the face. No one would've expected that Atlas Blackwell, the leader of Aerial Blade as well as the best doctor in Chernea, would get reprimanded by the woman who just slapped him. "Just how shameless are you to show your face before me! Did you choose to come back simply because your fiancée's about to get rich now that Century Group's about to get listed?" It had been five long years. And yet, Tabitha never got to see Atlas over the past five years. He didn't even bother asking her how she was doing. Why would she ever believe that Atlas had chosen to return just to protect her? Atlas widened his eyes and tried to explain himself to Tabitha, saying, "Tabitha, hear me out! I never knew you existed over the past five years! Heck! I didn't even know you were the one I slept with that night! "I didn't come back for Sierra. I thought she was pregnant with my child because of what happened back then, so I gave her a medicinal formula—" Tabitha slapped him again before he could finish his sentences. It was bad enough that Atlas didn't look for her in the past five years. The fact that he said all those things during their first meeting after so long made things between them even worse. Century Group, Sierra's company, was about to get listed. Currently, its net worth was hundreds of millions of dollars. How was it possible for Century Group to attain its success via one of Atlas' medicinal formulas? Atlas and Sierra's wedding was held on a night five years ago. Tabitha was the bridesmaid at that wedding. She and Sierra used to be best friends. But because of what Atlas had done to her that night, not only did she and Sierra become enemies, but she also got kicked out of the Grayson family. "Save it! I'm not so gullible to believe your lies!" Tabitha slapped Atlas once again before storming out of Horizon Club angrily. Stacy's survival was the best news she had ever received. Now, she vowed to return to her beloved daughter's side as soon as possible. … Atlas caught a strong whiff of alcohol coming from Tabitha when she stalked past him angrily. Her clothes were in tatters at that time. It was bad enough that her clothes were ripped. Atlas' heart throbbed in pain when he saw the injuries on her body. If he were to arrive even a second later, Tabitha would've gotten killed by that vile mutt. "Is this your mutt?" Atlas snarled out, his foot still pinned on Darko's carcass as he glared at Xander furiously. Xander nodded while smoking. His arrogant demeanor was extremely clear for all to see. "Yup. That's my mutt. What are you going to do about it, hmm?" The moment Xander was done speaking, Atlas reappeared before him as though he had just teleported. A loud snap sounded at that moment. Just like that, Atlas snapped Xander's arm in clean halves. A pained shriek tore out of Xander's throat. He glared at Atlas angrily after that. "How dare you hit me!" Atlas ignored Xander's words. His eyes were fixed on Xander's phone, which was still playing a video clip. That was when he saw his dear Stacy being forced to swallow mouthfuls of garbage. In the video, Stacy was all tied up, so she was rendered immobile. Her mouth was constantly stuffed with garbage, yet she continued to call for help. "Daddy… Daddy, save me…" Atlas' heart went tense at her words. It was as though an invisible hand was squeezing it tightly. But Xander didn't spare Stacy from the cruelty. Instead, he grew even more excited. He finally revealed a twisted grin when Stacy's mouth was fully stuffed with garbage. After that, he shoved Stacy off the crane tower. A few seconds later, a loud thud echoed from the junkyard. Atlas' heart dropped to the pit of his stomach at the sight. Intense pain flared from his chest in the next moment, making it difficult for him to breathe. That was his daughter! He never got to shower her with love and affection over the past five years. To think that Xander was heartless enough to push Stacy off the crane tower. Was he a devil? How the hell did he have the courage to do that? Atlas crushed the phone with one hand, feeling his heart throbbing with pain. "W-What are you doing?" Xander realized that something was off with Atlas. Fear gripped his heart as he backed away from Atlas immediately. But Atlas still approached him when Xander was backed into a corner. "What the hell are the rest of you doing? Stop that bastard!" Xander roared to his goons. Everyone rushed toward Atlas, only to sink down to their knees in the next second. They were just small fry, which meant they were no match for Atlas, the Ruler of Northern Bronshire. Atlas grabbed a wine bottle from the table before crushing it into shards. Then, he stuffed all the glass shards down Xander's throat. "Eat them all! I want you to swallow everything!" Xander's mouth soon became bloodied. He couldn't help but spit out a mouthful of blood. "Go on! Eat more of the shards!" Atlas grabbed another wine bottle and crushed it once again. Rage had completely taken over his senses at that moment. No one was able to withstand his rage. Atlas had saved countless lives in Northern Bronshire. If he were to retire from his position as a miracle doctor, the entire world would definitely be plunged into chaos. There were two meanings that came with the sacred coat he wore when he was carrying out his duties. As a medic, Atlas was given access to the battlefield to treat and save lives. But as the commander, he could slaughter enemies all he wanted. No one would be able to stop him. Xander puked a few times after that. His eyes had already gone bloodshot at that moment. He swallowed so many shards that his stomach was filled with them after some time. With wide, bloodshot eyes, he hollered at Atlas, "What the fuck are you up to? I'll let you know that I'm Alan Dawson's son!" Did Xander really ask Atlas that question? Atlas picked Xander up and began walking toward the junkyard. He could feel his heart crack with every step he took. He wanted Xander to have a taste of the pain and despair Stacy had gone through. Heck, he wanted Xander to go through a thousand times the pain and despair Stacy was forced to experience. Atlas didn't give a shit about who Alan Dawson was. Even if Alan truly was the ruler of Newtropolis, Atlas wouldn't hesitate to bring down the hierarchy for Stacy's sake. Once they arrived at the top of a crane tower in the junkyard, Xander began fearing for his life. He screamed, "Atlas Blackwell, try harming a hair on my head if you really have the balls to do so!" Atlas wasted no time in lifting Xander up. Then, he hurled Xander onto the ground with all the strength he could master. It was as though he condensed all of his anger into his arms, converting it into physical strength. Xander felt his scalp crawling in fear. Despair had already swallowed his senses up. A loud thud sounded throughout the junkyard, signifying that Xander had crashed into the ground. His blood seeped everywhere from his broken and battered body. Rolling waves of raw despair filled the entire junkyard as well. It was soon overshadowed by Atlas' intense bloodlust, which proceeded to engulf the entire city of Newtropolis. Xander felt his body getting lifted once again before the pain completely ebbed away. Soon, another loud thud sounded. The thuds proceeded to echo over and over again in the junkyard. Just like that, Xander was stuck in a nightmarish cycle of swallowing garbage and getting thrown off the crane tower. His screams and wails haunted the junkyard repeatedly.
