Icarus and Donovan walked out of the school gate together.
"Thank you, Icarus," Donovan said sincerely. He didn't have many friends at school, and Icarus was the only one willing to stand up for him.
Icarus replied, "No need to thank me. You got beaten up because of me. How are your injuries? If you need—"
"It's nothing. I have thick skin, so I barely felt any pain. I'll be fine in a few days," Donovan remarked with a chuckle.
"Alright, then. I'll be heading home." With that, Icarus turned to leave.
"Hey, Icarus. Don't go just yet. I'm so happy today. Let me treat you to a meal first, and then we can go to a bar for some drinks!" Donovan called out to Icarus.
"Dinner is fine, but I'll pass on the drinks," Icarus said. He wasn't interested in consuming alcohol.
"Come on, my cousin is a manager at a bar. He's been asking me to bring some friends over," Donovan persuaded eagerly.
"But aren't high school students not allowed to enter bars?" Icarus asked.
