Chapter 51

"Mr. Page, I heard the news. I knew that Mrs. Page still cared about you! She might have done this because it'd hurt her pride to just hand over the old Page family estate to you. She definitely likes you," Alfred said. He seemed to be delighted, but I only let out a bitter smile and said, "That's because she's lost interest in that estate. If she really liked me, she wouldn't have gotten pregnant with someone else's child." Alfred sighed and said, "Mrs. Page might only have done that out of anger because you didn't coax her well enough. "She might be happier if you learn a thing or two from Andrew and coax her like he does." Did he really think it was possible for me to coddle up to her? What would be the difference between Andrew and I, then? "It's late, so get some sleep," I simply said. When I headed upstairs, I could hear Andrew's muffled voice from a distance. Soon after, I heard him mention the old Page family estate, and I came to a halt. I stood by the door subconsciou
