Chapter Six

It was so comfortable I didn't want to get up, and the sweet smell, it was all around me. It warmed me to my very core. His smell, his smell. And just like that, I fell back into reality as if a brick had just hit my head. My eyes shot open. This wasn't my room. It was larger than mine. Grey walls, dark brown wooden cabinets, and an extremely large king-size bed with blue linen. This was definitely not my room. Instinctively, I checked under the covers and sighed in relief.  I remember Killian and him carrying me into the park house. I am in the packhouse but not in my room, perhaps in his. I twirled around in my mind in a frenzy. What do I do? What do I do? Why would he bring me here? Then again, he doesn't know where my room is, so this was the only place he could take me. Dammit Genesis, why did you have to fall asleep in his arms? Deciding that this was the best time to leave, I let myself out of the room. Thank goodness Killian wasn't present at the time.I would simply have been mortified. What would I have even said? I am sorry that I slept in your arms and practically forced you to carry me all the way to the packhouse. No, not today. I might need some time to get over it before I face him again. It would be best. As I walked down the dimly lit path to the kitchen, I couldn’t help smiling. My hair was a mess, flowing shabbily down my shoulders; it had gotten tangled up while I was asleep. I didn’t even know where my headband was; it was probably in the sheets. His scent was all over me, and I couldn't help sniffing my shirt. I felt giddy, like a schoolgirl with a crush. My heart sank at the thought of him. I do have a crush. I glided into the kitchen with my head in the clouds and a dopey grin on my face, fully euphoric and ready to begin my night duties. "You’re happy, really happy," a voice came tumbling into my ears. There stood Andrew, with his hands lazily crossed on the grey and white marble countertop, patiently staring at me. As a whole, I have terrible senses, or is it that I was so consumed in my world that I didn’t even notice him? Yes, that must be it. "You love this kitchen, don’t you?" I said I went looking for my tools, a blue apron, and my gloves, and then got busy. "She speaks," Andrew says, joining me in picking up the random dirty dishes around the counter space. "Of course I do, "I said as he held up a used cup for me to put into the sink. He smiled. "Thank you for not giving me up today," I said to him, making him pause for a minute, his eyes on me. "No problem, so..." Where have you been? " "Just about, you should go hang out with the rest. I can take care of all of this. " I really could clean up all the mess by myself, would I be extremely tired afterward? Yes, my back and feet would hurt, but I'd always make it. The packhouse was not fully occupied. With just a few Lycans and werewolves here and there, the damage was manageable. I smiled at him, and he smiled back. And I find myself longing for a friend. The warmth of being understood made me happy. Somehow, these lycans made me happy. He stayed, I washed the dishes while he dried them. We did that for a whole ten minutes in silence, just working and staring out of the window. "You smell like him," he uttered the first words, his voice was calm, and I liked it. "You know him?" "You don’t?" He chuckled, and I smiled. "I believe his name is Killian, I just met him," I replied opening the cabinet to take out two bowls, I figured if I was to talk to him about my obvious attraction to his friend or whatever Killian is to him, we might as well enjoy some ice-cream. Or maybe I might get some information on Killian, what he’s like, what his rank is, if he has a mate or is he mateless, I needed to know. "Thank you," Andrew smiled while taking his bowl, and we sat side by side enjoying our bowl of ice cream. "He told you his name. He never tells anyone his name, his first name, or anything really. " "Why doesn’t he ?" "He’s the king; he doesn’t need a reason to do what he does." I ended up choking on my ice cream, becoming a slurping and gagging pitiful thing, Andrew flung himself off the chair and was beside me once again with a glass of water. He was the king, Killian was the king. Of course, only I could be foolish enough to fall for the king, but why would he look so young? He’s over a thousand years old! " "He is the king? Killian, he’s the king? " I asked desperately for an answer. My simple mind couldn't grasp the idea. I wanted Andrew to tell me. I
