I had said what needed to be said, and I couldn't be bothered to talk to Yvonne anymore. I merely looked at her as I waited for Lorraine to bring Xavier over.
"Don't touch me. I can walk by myself." Xavier struggled vehemently, trying to shake off Lorraine's hands, which were placed on his shoulder.
"Your dad is watching. Are you trying to disappoint him?" As expected, Lorraine had a knack for reading kids' thoughts.
Afterward, Xavier immediately simmered down and allowed Lorraine to hold his hand. As they walked toward me, it felt as if they were mother and son.
Yvonne was so mad she could just explode.
"Xavier." Her voice wasn't too loud or too soft. It was just nice, and everyone could hear her just fine.
I frowned, but a sense of relief washed over me when I saw Xavier running over.
"I missed you, Mommy."
Yvonne pulled Xavier to her side, and she kept scanning Lorraine from head to toe. "Don't lay a finger on my son."
Yvonne even suspected that Lorraine was driving
