"What's with that expression? Am I treating you too harshly?" I asked.
"No." Yolanda sniffed and tried to stay calm.
"I don't think I've asked you to marry anyone," I continued.
"You haven't." Yolanda knew I was telling her not to overthink things. But she just really didn't want to marry someone she hadn't even met before.
She bit her lip and begged me, "Cole, I really don't want to marry anyone. I'm begging you, don't make me marry someone I don't know."
Yolanda looked like she was going to cry again, "Please, if you force that on me too, then I might as well just die."
I looked at the tears in her eyes and sighed. "Get up. I didn't say I'd force you to marry anyone."
Even if I was poor and destitute, I wouldn't trade a woman for resources.
"Just go back to your university for now. You can intern in my company too," I said.
My company had been short-staffed, and Yolanda seemed smart enough. She would probably be a good addition.
