Their group had ordered some drinks. The more outgoing colleagues had left, and only a few stayed behind, including Sarah and Lorraine's group.
Sarah kept eyeing Lorraine, unable to understand what on earth she had done to make me publicly acknowledge our relationship.
Sophie noticed Sarah's subtle glances and leaned over to Lorraine. She whispered, "She keeps staring at you. Who knows what nasty idea she's cooking up?"
"She doesn't have the guts to do that," Lorraine replied as she gave Sophie reassuring pats. She glanced at Sarah, and when their eyes met, Sarah quickly looked away.
Instead of having any alcohol, Lorraine ordered a small glass of juice. Just as she was about to finish it, I texted her and asked, "Where are you?"
Lorraine frowned as if she had not expected me to contact her. "Having dinner with colleagues," she replied.
"Location." My tone sounded displeased.
