The car pulled up to the curb, and one by one, they all stepped out onto the familiar driveway. Jackson, ever the gentleman, assisted his grandmother from the car first, ensuring she was steady on her feet before turning his attention to Old Carl and his son, Jay.
"Come on, this way," Jackson said, leading the way towards the front door with a reassuring smile. They followed him into the house, as their minds were filled with anticipation and curiosity.
Once inside the living room, they all settled into various seats, the atmosphere tense with unspoken questions. For a moment, they sat in silence, each lost in their own thoughts.
It was Jay who finally broke the silence, his voice hesitant as he cleared his throat. "Um, I thought we were here to... you know, explain the whole situation?" he said, his eyes shifting nervously around the room, awaiting a response.
