Chapter 15
"I think Henry is a bit lonely in the dungeons, we should send some friends over to him," Julia said with a smile on her face.
"Shadows! Take these people to the dungeons with Henry. If anyone asks, they tried to assassinate me and my mother."
The shadows suddenly appeared and they all said in unison, "Yes, Madam!"
"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!" The chief of the Qin family was furious when he heard the news.
"Utterly useless! That girl is just a Second Level in the Condensed Body Realm, how could they end up in Prince William's dungeon?"
"Master, this is a good thing! Prince William takes Julia seriously. If we could just get her to intercede for us, Henry and the other servants will be freed. She's just a Second Level bastard child, it shouldn't be hard to take her away."
"You're not wrong, the Chu family wouldn't bother to protect her even if she is engaged to William."
Julia felt that she had underestimated the Qin family, they worked hard every single night without relenting. If this keeps up she wouldn't have time to improve her Eyes of Immortality.
She thought it was plain annoying, couldn't they understand? They were not going to succeed against her or her mother.
Julia decided to make some poison to make it easier to deal with them, but she didn't know much about the herbs of this world.
So she went into the family library to study about the medicine of this world.
Julia was a daughter of the Chu family, so she could freely enter the first three levels at any time.
She decided to practice her Eyes of Immortality while it was still peaceful. She tapped into the spiritual energy and the potential of her eyes were further developed.
Now, she can quickly read through entire books, memorize their contents and understand them clearly.
Sarah was fascinated when she saw Julia skimming through entire pages. She walked over and said sarcastically, "Why are you reading about medicine? Do you think you can cure Prince William with this? But are you even learning anything? Honestly, you're just pretending."
"Hey now, there is nothing wrong with pretending, maybe Prince William will hear about this and he'll send her more riches."
"We've known you for so long. You were a quiet girl, but we didn't expect her to be such an obedient dog."
A friend and a servant followed Sarah and mocked Julia alongside her.
Julia has read everything there is to read about the medicine here. It was exactly like the traditional Chinese medicine she learned from the Murong family.
But doctors and pharmacists were not the best healers. That title belonged to the alchemists.
Because of this there weren't many books on medicine in the first three levels and according to the librarian there weren't many books about medicine in the upper floors either.
Sarah's throat had already gone dry, but Julia didn't bat an eye towards her.
When Julia closed the book, Sarah and the other two felt a sharp pain in their heads and their eyes went dark.
"Julia, what did you do to me?" Sarah shouted angrily before falling unconscious.
"Let me give you some payback for interrupting my study."
Julia carried all three of them to the fourth floor, someone saw her and he warned her, "Lady Julia, you don't have permission to go up there!"
Julia looked at the librarian and said, "I'm not going up, they're the ones who want to go up."
Julia kicked them onto the fourth floor, they flew like shuttlecocks. She then said, "Sarah and her friends broke into the fourth floor of the library. Please report them to the family chief."
The elder was speechless, he didn't know Julia could be so bold.
He didn't have the authority to enter the fourth floor, so he couldn't bring them down. He could only report to the chief.
When Oscar came, Julia had already disappeared.
It was a family rule with no exceptions. Sarah and her two goons were on the fourth floor and they had to be punished.
Sarah, who was kneeling at the ancestral shrine, was furious. She whispered to herself "Julia, I swear I'm going to make you pay."
The next day, Sarah's friend spread a rumor. According to this rumor, Julia had been studying medicine to cure William's illness.
"Julia is really whimsical. The greatest alchemists from all the seven kingdoms have tried and failed to cure Prince William. What makes her think she can do it?"
"She's just flattering the prince so she can get more out of him before he dies."
People were jealous of Julia and they maliciously spoke ill of her to satisfy themselves. This rumor turned into a joke and it spread all throughout the kingdom.
William had heard about this and he immediately ordered Ian, "Get all the medical books, herb encyclopedias and medical equipment she needs. If Julia wants to study medicine then I will help her myself.
"And spread the news, the reason why I recovered so quickly was because of my fiancée's miraculous medicine. If anyone dares to speak ill of her, I will find them and send them to the dungeons," William said fiercely.
"At once, Your Majesty!" Ian said firmly.
The news released by William was shocking, everyone couldn't believe it!
"Julia actually had other methods and it worked! Prince William couldn't possibly lie, right?"
"There is no reason for him to lie. Besides, he did recover very quickly."
"I heard Prince William had gathered various books about medicine and he is personally going to the Chu family house to deliver them. It's definitely not a lie."
Everyone in the kingdom knew of William's illness. He hasn't left his mansion for almost a year now.
But now he was going to leave his mansion for the first time in a long time to deliver medical books to his fiancé.
People had an answer now. Julia was an amazing doctor who gave immediate relief to the sickly prince, which was why he got engaged to her.
Of course, some people still doubted Julia's quackery.
"If Julia is talented in medicine, then why didn't we hear about her before?"
A group of palace nobles sat in a restaurant, discussing about it with sarcasm.
The third prince then said, "The imperial physician and the chief alchemist couldn't cure William. How was she able to do it? He's just saving his fiancée from embarrassment."
"Yes, it must be so. You are very wise," the nobles agreed with him.
At this time within the Chu family house, a servant walked over to the shed and said, "Lady Julia, Prince William has arrived and the chief wants you to greet him personally."
