Chapter 12
An old man with a bright red face suddenly appeared. His punches were like explosions as he struck the faces of the Qin servants.
Immediately after, Julia heard loud cries of pain, this old man wasn't merciful.
His angry voice was like a lion's roar, "Get out of my house, you shits!"
"Father! Wait!" Oscar didn't expect his father to come home at this time.
"You! Strangers are in our house, they're attacking a little girl, my dear granddaughter and you did nothing to help!" Grandmaster Chu said angrily.
"Father, please, let me explain. There is a reason for all of this." Oscar told him everything, he hoped that his father would understand his approach at handling quarrels between families.
But his explanation only made his father angrier. "Nonsense! Are you making a fool out of me or yourself?"
"Hey, assholes of the Qin family! If you don't get out of my house, I will hunt you down like the dogs you are!" the grandmaster roared.
The servants of the Qin family were terrified and they ran away like scared rabbits.
Julia looked at the old man in front of her. He was a little short, but his aura wasn't weak. Her grandfather looked at her with a look of compassion and affection.
This was her mother's biological father, Julia's grandfather. Elena wasn't married when she gave birth to Julia, so she kept the family name with her.
Elena had a pregnancy outside of marriage, it was considered shameful. Her father protected her daughter and allowed Julia to be born. If it wasn't for him Elena would've been expelled from the family and things could have been much worse.
This was the reason why Julia calls him grandpa, instead of grandmaster or grandfather.
"I never taught my granddaughter to steal. The Qin family said she stole something from them, but you didn't even ask for proof, you just accepted their words blindly. I named you chief of the family, but you let those dogs trample all over us. Do you want to be a part of the Qin family, is that it?" Grandpa Chu gave Oscar a severe reprimand.
The eldest uncle accepted the reprimand very sincerely, admitted his mistakes humbly, and he apologized to Julia in a respectful tone.
"You make me feel doubtful, my son. I may have made a mistake in naming you chief of the family." Grandpa Chu sighed.
His words made him grit his teeth. He felt insulted.
He knew he was the best choice, he was better than the shameful sister who gave birth outside of wedlock. He was obviously better than the weak brother who simply had connections within the kingdom. He thought he was the strongest and the best choice for family chief.
But the hateful aura immediately disappeared and he returned to being the gentle uncle she knew from before.
Julia was surprised when she saw this. She expected him to be spiteful for at least a few days, but he got over it rather quickly.
Grandpa Chu had returned from training and now nobody would dare hurt Julia or her mother, for now.
Grandpa Chu went with Julia to check on Elena. He felt very distressed when he remembered what happened to the mother and daughter these past few days. He said in a sorrowful tone, "I'm sorry, Julia. I have ignored you and your mother for the sake of my training. I heard you competed in Prince William's marriage competition and won for your mother's sake. If you don't want to marry Prince William, then I will personally go to the palace and have the engagement called off."
Julia then replied with a smile, "There is no need to worry about that, Grandpa. William helped me a lot. I can't accept his kindness and call off the engagement. Besides, I'm sure I'll be happy when I marry him."
Grandpa Chu felt that his granddaughter had grown up quite a bit. He felt very pleased. "In the future, if you or your mother need anything, you just come straight to grandpa and I will do what I can. I won't go back to training for a while, I need to straighten up the Chu family a little bit."
Grandpa Chu really cared about her, and Julia also had a good impression of this little old man.
She then asked, "Grandpa, I do have something to ask, but you're not going to like it. I have grown up now and my mother wanted to die peacefully when she saw me this time. I think it's about time I know something."
Grandpa Chu was taken aback and he said, "You want to ask about your father."
"Yes!" Julia nodded.
"I don't know, not even your mother knows who he is." Grandpa Chu sighed.
They sat down on a bench in the garden, and the Grandpa Chu told Julia what he knew.
Once her mother was a prodigy of the Chu family, and her spiritual talent used to be one of the best in the entire Red Spirit Kingdom.
With the Chu family supporting her, her training went smoothly, and she even represented the Red Spirit Kingdom in the Seven Kingdoms Martial Arts Competition.
She performed very well, but other people were jealous and they conspired against her. A man had given her a vicious poison under the guise of medicine and she was taken advantage of.
After that, she failed to participate in the competition, which brought shame to the entire kingdom.
After returning to the Red Spirit Kingdom, everyone knew what happened to her. The shining genius, the fifth lady of the Chu family, was a used woman who let a wild man take her.
Countless suitors asked for her hand in marriage, but after this incident, no one bothered with her anymore.
Elena had no reason to blame that man, she thought that she was a fool for believing in others.
Afterwards, she became pregnant, which made matters even worse.
The family was cynical and sarcastic towards her. During those dark years, the baby in her stomach was the only companion she had.
After Julia was born, a newfound determination ignited within Elena. She worked hard and she became the third strongest within the Chu family, right below her father and brother.
Julia hoped she would never meet his father. If she did she would mercilessly beat him to the ground.
She knew very well that her mother suffered because of him, from Grandpa Chu's story and from her memories.
But now that her grandfather was here to take care of her mother, she could now find a nice man to make up for all her years of pain and regret.
She was not from this world, and even with her memories telling her that it wasn't as accepted, she still wanted to make her mother happy.
"At the time, the Seven Kingdoms Talent Competition was held in the Violet Spirit Kingdom, right? There's a high chance that my father is from there. He better pray I don't find, I'm going to put him in the dirt if I do." Julia clenched her fist.
The seven kingdoms were divided into the Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet Spirit Kingdom. The Violet Spirit kingdom was the strongest among them which was why the Seven Kingdoms Talent Competition was held here.
Grandpa Chu smiled and said, "You really are grown-up now. I'm proud of you, but don't forget, that man may have been irresponsible but he is still your father. Don't beat him to death if you actually meet him."
"Bad things need to happen to bad people," Julia said nonchalantly.
Grandpa Chu touched his chin and he felt a little scared of his granddaughter. He felt that she changed too much while he was gone.
But it was getting late, and Grandpa Chu told Julia to get some rest.
In the dead of night, Julia closed her eyes and practiced a few techniques she learned from the piece of white jade.
The spiritual power around her poured into Julia's eyes in an instant, and Julia felt that the spiritual power in her body was climbing rapidly.
At this time, William, who was sleeping in his mansion, opened his eyes quickly. Ian was ecstatic and he said, "Master, you're awake!"
