A few days later, Shane arrived at the villa with his friend. Wanda led them in, taking them along the winding paths over small bridges, past flowing streams, and through rock gardens and corridors. Suddenly, Ronald exclaimed, pointing to a nearby tree about 32 feet tall. "A snake! That's a huge snake!" Wanda looked up and saw it was Jade. She glared at the snake demon, who promptly hid within the branches of the tree, leaving only her silver-white tail swinging in the air. Wanda was speechless. Jade had hidden her head, but her tail was still visible. "That's Ms. Locke's pet," Wanda explained. Shane shot Ronald a look of disapproval. "Don't act so uncultured." After all, a master of mystic arts like Madison had surely seen plenty of ghosts and demons. Shane lowered his voice. "And you think you're cut out to do paranormal variety shows with nerves like that?" Clutching his chest, Ronald muttered, "I wasn't expecting to see such a massive snake in someone's house, alright?"
