Chapter 18: Allen's Apology
Allen didn't expect the butler, who used to greet him respectfully at the door, to now leave without even saying hello.
He glanced at Beverly's room upstairs, the lights inside indicating that Beverly must be at home.
Allen still wanted to reconcile. After all, he and Beverly had been friends for over twenty years.
He gritted his teeth and shouted Beverly's name ungracefully, not caring about his image.
This time, Beverly, who was packing inside the house, heard Allen's voice.
She walked to the window and saw Allen shouting downstairs without any decorum, furrowing her eyebrows and instructing the butler to quickly send Allen away.
Cape also coldly glanced at Allen downstairs before continuing to help Beverly pack.
Casper was going to pick Beverly up to take her to their new home later. She was already feeling uneasy, and now Allen's arrival only added to her discomfort. Mrs. Cape felt even more distressed.
