Chapter 10

A taxi arrived in front of the Moon Hotel. Morgan and Charles stepped down from the taxi with their backpacks. The hotel was located a stone's throw from the temple. They both walked inside the hotel, looking elegant like some sort of business tycoon. Morgan, who always had her hair in a rough ponytail, loosened it and allowed it to flow freely, touching her buttocks. She has very long hair, making you look like a princess. She used some makeup and wouldn't stop smiling at the receptionist. Charles was also looking cute in his blue tuxedo, coupled with a pair of black Italian shoes. They booked different rooms but opposite each other. It has always been part of their work to survey the location of their target, before taking action. Since the findings showed that Elena was in the temple, they chose to study her before deciding on the next thing to do. Both were studying where the surveillance camera was placed as they were walking to their hostel rooms. "See you by 5 pm," Charles told Morgan and each left for their various rooms. He dropped his backpack on the bed, opened the window, and was viewing the city, staring at the people entering the temple. Something caught his attention, people were carrying what looked like a gift as they were entering the temple and it seemed to be more populated than before. "What's going on? Is there any festival going on?" Charles asked himself, scratching his head to recall but according to the normal calendar, there wasn't any festival scheduled at that particular period. Suddenly, a big car parked in front of the temple and began to offload varieties of gifts which were mainly wrapped in white and pink color, which was when Charles realized it was a wedding that was going on. According to their culture, a variety of gifts will be delivered by the groom's family to welcome their bride a day before the wedding ceremony. The car was big enough, which signified that the groom was a rich person. "Dress elegantly and culturally. A wedding is going on at the temple" he texted Morgan. "I also noticed that. Will do as you said" she replied. At 5 pm, Charles dressed like a Buddhist and waited for Morgan at the hotel Reception. He was checking the time and was getting annoyed already before Morgan showed up. " I may see the dragon lady today, I hope I won't get a heartache as usual," he thought before he recalled what Morgan told her. Their power was contradicted because one was from a descendant of fire while the second was from ice. He instantly activates the Edward fire ring that he was putting on, to avoid the heartache. "I'm sorry for arriving late. Dressing like a Buddhist isn't easy" Morgan apologized and they proceeded on the journey. A big banner was tied outside, indicating the picture of Elena and Tony as a couple. People were snapping the picture and Morgan also moved closer to take the pictures. Charles was only staring at the innocent girl who was smiling happily, not the kind of evil that was about to befall her. "Seems we are here at the right time. I eavesdropped on the hotel Receptionist talking about how powerful the groom's family is. It would be better to kidnap her now, than get to her husband's house" Morgan uttered. "Can't we just kill her and leave with the crystal?" He inquired. "Do you think your power is enough to kill the dragon girl? Try it and watch yourself dying instead. I don't know yet but dragons can't be killed easily" she told me. "We need to plan since there will be many powerful Sorcerers here. We must fail, or else we will be gone forever. Get your identity swapped with one of the bride's besties and don't forget to update me" He informed her. "Noted boss" she smiled and they parted ways. Morgan entered the garden, where the bride was sitting. She was dressed in a white gown, embroidered with diamonds. She was chit-chatting with her friends and they were all laughing. She stood by the door, studying each of them. "Ain't you gonna enter? You have been staring for a while now" an old woman uttered behind her. "I can't stop admiring her. She is such a beautiful bride" she lied, smiling at the same time. "I'm sure you will also make a beautiful bride, don't worry dear. Your time will soon come" the woman told her and left to be attending to some other things. After a while, one of the bride's friends stood up. "I need to use the restroom," she said and left. Morgan followed her immediately. There were different people on the way to the restroom, making it impossible for her to accomplish her mission. "Fuck! The place is getting more crowded" she said. Assuming there weren't many people in the restroom, it would have been easy for her but people were even taking turns to use the restroom. "Excuse me" she stopped the lady earlier. "Yes, how may I help you?' the lady asked. Morgan first sniffed in, trying to check if she was a mystic being too. It wouldn't make sense if she tried to attack her and at the end of the day, getting attacked instead. The temple was filled with people with magical powers and lesser ones with no power. "The bouquet that was sent from the groom's family was much and I heard you are in the right position to choose the best for the bride. Can you follow me to choose one?" She asked, giggling too. "Oh sure but which clan are you from? Your face isn't familiar" the lady asked her, trying to think of where she had met her before. "Think of something, Morgan! Think!" "I am a distant cousin of the groom. You may not know me but I've noticed you once in a while anytime I come home during the festival period" she fabricated. "Me? I've not been home for a while, it's okay, I may resemble someone you have probably met" the lady said and followed Morgan. Though Morgan didn't know the exact place where the gifts were kept, using her instinct, she was able to locate the place. "Where are the bouquets?" Layla asked and before she could say another thing, Morgan did some formations with the tip of her finger and she lost consciousness. "You are gonna sleep for forty-eight hours, happy napping" she smiled before casting another formation. Within five seconds, she has taken Layla's identity. She looked for an inner room, dragged her inside, and locked the door, not without getting some fragments from her, which would help her to know a few things about the owner of the body, Layla. "New identity as the bride's friend" She took a picture and sent it to Charles, who smirked in satisfaction. Morgan went back and joined the bride's friends. She was initially scolded for taking too long but she lied about helping someone to locate the gifted room. ★★★★★ At seven a.m. the following morning, they were all dressed up, waiting for the monk to announce the arrival of the groom's family. "Get ready and check out of the hotel rooms, I'll bring the bride out in the next thirty minutes" she messaged Charles, who instantly did as told. According to the culture, when the groom arrives, he has to be welcomed by the bride's friends who will tease him a bit before bringing the bride out for vow-taking and other marital rights. Immediately after the arrival of the groom was announced, other friends all rushed out to say one or two things about Elena. Morgan, already hidden, was left out. "Babe, are you that happy about getting married?" She asked Elena, coming out of her Hidden spot. "What are you doing here, thought you had gone outside" Elena mumbled while she shook her head negatively. "I can't leave you like this, I'm missing you already. Promise you will be visiting me once in a while and I'll also promise to check on you" she said, sitting beside Elena. "You know I'll do that. I promise you my dearest Layla and I can't wait for you to get married also" Elena smiled at her. Both hugged each other and in that process, Morgan quickly chanted some spells. Slowly, Elena began to feel dizzy before collapsing. Morgan was fast enough to use her bed sheets to wrap and carry her on her shoulder. "Ouch! You are too heavy" she complained and carried her outside. All other people were waiting at the temple hall for the bride to show up. Morgan got outside and saw two security guards at the entrance. She didn't know what to do and texted Charles immediately to distract the two guards, so that she could pass. Charles understood what age meant. He began to throw stones at the car that was parked closer to the entrance. The guy didn't move initially, not thinking it was something serious until he threw a stone at the side mirror which broke immediately. "Who is there?" The guards left their duty post, finding the culprit. "Help! The bride is no longer in the waiting room. She has been kidnapped!" Someone yelled from the room, calling for the attention of others. "What?" Morgan and Charles exclaimed, facing each other.
