Both Sara and Jerry were so nervous because they were worried they might make a bad impression and jeopardize Stephen's future. Stephen stood up with them, first greeting Charlie and Harris, then introducing his parents to them. His poise and manners were impeccable. Once everyone was seated, the conversation started, mostly with Charlie and Harris talking while Sara and Jerry occasionally responded with a word or two.
