Chapter 65
Joel, fuming with anger, began to pant heavily. His fists were clenched so tightly that the knuckles were clearly visible. He resembled a bull in a rage.
Stephen shrugged. "Joel, think carefully. There are surveillance cameras here. If you actually hit me, I can make sure you don't get into university."
After a few seconds of tense standoff, Joel eventually backed down and loosened his fists. He realized that there was a significant class difference between them. Stephen was someone who not only talked the talk but could also walk the walk.
"Joel, don't act like you and Sadie are close. Even if something were to happen, it has nothing to do with you. Know your place—you're not Sadie's boyfriend."
Stephen patted Joel on the shoulder and waved him away impatiently. "Go on. Have fun somewhere else."
Joel, too intimidated to say anything further, left in a hurry. He felt a powerful sense of pressure from Stephen that he wasn't equipped to handle.
