Charles then said, "Go to your room and get some rest. Come with me taking a stroll tomorrow."
"Okay," Iris replied and headed upstairs.
Charles then turned toward Thomas. "Take her to her room, Tom."

When Thomas and Iris arrived on the fourth floor, Iris headed straight into his room. He lit himself a cigarette, and she promptly snuggled against him, sitting on his lap.
As he lowered his eyes on her, Iris returned his gaze with her bright eyes, murmuring, "I'm sad, Thomas."
While he remained unaffected, she reached for his sash, undoing it and baring his eight-pack abs.
"Mr. Franklin is very good to me, don't you think?"
Thomas sneered. "What, trying to seek refuge?"
Iris shook her head and said in her coquettish voice, "No. You are my refuge, Thomas. Annul your engagement, alright?"
Thomas promptly took her hands off himself, his eyes so cold that Iris could not find the tenderness she saw back at Little Dover.
"Scram."
Iris tamely got away from him, clenching her fis
