Chapter 10: I Am Not Pregnant

She left quickly. On Kendra's way to her classroom, her phone rang. Lendon gave her phone back yesterday. It was Bianca who called. Kendra hesitated for a second and picked it up. "Hello," Her voice came in and lack of enthusiasm. "Kendra! Where are you?" Bianca asked. "I am at school," Kendra answered. "Where have you been? I kept calling you, but your phone has been dead. Are you okay?" Bianca asked worriedly. Recalling what happened these days, Kendra felt annoyed and kept silent. A few seconds later, she said, "I am fine. I'm in a hurry, I will hang up now. I will talk to you later." "Wait, I saw you now. Don't leave, please." Bianca said, rushing towards her. Kendra felt confused. Soon, Bianca appeared in front of her, huffing. "Why do you come here?" Kendra stares at her half-sister. Bianca held Kendra's arm and answered, "I need to attend a lecture. How are your wounds?" Bianca looked at Kendra and found there was no bruise anymore. She felt so anxious and asked, "Have you recovered totally? What are you going to do with your baby?" "I am not pregnant. I went to the hospital, and a doctor healed my wounds." Briefly, Kendra explained, "Which lecture are you going to attend?" "You don't know? Michael has come back. Dad told me to attend his lecture. I know you will be here too, so I want to go with you." Bianca smiled at her. Michael? Her fiancé? Kendra never met him before, personally. Why did he come back suddenly? Bianca noticed that Kendra was distracted, so she waved her hand before Kendra's eyes and said, "Kendra, don't mind what dad said last time. He was just angry. I won't take your fiancé away." Kendra smiled bitterly. She knew her dad was serious. They concluded that she was pregnant, so they kicked her out. Robert was not her dad anymore. "Honestly, I don't care anymore. Where would the lecture be held? Let's go." Kendra started to walk. Bianca followed her, "It's in room 402." Michael Baker was a famous lawyer. Since he graduated from Harvard Law School, he went to the UK and continued his study. He had won many difficult cases, so people called him a "cold killer." "There are so many people here." Bianca sighed. The vast meeting room was full of people as they stepped in. Kendra and Bianca found two seats finally and sat down. Minutes later, Kendra noticed information flashes on the screen about Michael, "I didn't know that he was my schoolmate before." She read all the detailed information and murmured, "He is brilliant!" "Of course, your fiancé must be smart." Bianca teased her. Kendra smiled bitterly and said nothing. She barely knew about Michael. Her father just told her that she's engaged to him. After the lecture started, a host introduced Michael briefly and invited him to come on the stage. Everyone clapped their hands, praising him. It was the first time Kendra saw Michael in real. He wore a casual suit and walked into the stage elegantly. When the light fell on his face, he looked so warm. It seemed that "cold killer" was not so suitable to him. Michael was more like a gentleman than the monster Lendon back at home. She shook her head as she realized her thought pattern. She stared at Michael's handsome profile, he stood at the stage calmly. "Kendra," Bianca called her. Kendra came back to her senses. She looked back at her sister. "Are you attracted to him?" Bianca casually asked. "No, I didn't." Kendra blushed, and her tiny lips curved thinly. She avoided Bianca's eyesight. "Your face is as red as an apple." Bianca stared at Kendra and teased her. Kendra glanced at Bianca and felt so complicated. Bianca stopped joking and listened to the lecture carefully. "Hi, everyone. Nice to meet you." Michael's voice rang. Michael's voice sounded so charming that the girls all got crazy. They discussed him excitedly. "God, he is so cute." "And his voice is so attractive." "Don't be attracted to him. I heard he has a fiancée. He has had an engagement since childhood." "What? Who is his fiancée? Oh, I envy her so much." "I don't know. But I heard that Michael came back to marry that girl this time." "What a pity!" Kendra heard the girls' discussion clearly. Michael came back to marry her? For these years, he never cared about their engagement. Why did he suddenly want to marry her? Kendra held her chin and wondered. When she looked at Michael, Michael happened to look at her at the same time. Michael smiled at her when their eyes met. Kendra blushed as if she was caught stealing glances at him without his permission. She dropped her head immediately and wanted to dig a hole to hide. "Wow, he smiled!" "He smiled at me! God, he is so handsome." "Are you kidding? He was looking at me." "Don't lie to yourself!" When the lecture finished, Michael had gotten many fans. The girls didn't even leave. Kendra and Bianca left the meeting room at last. While Kendra walked Bianca out of the campus, she saw Robert standing ahead. Kendra stood still and said nothing. "I told dad to come. Talk to dad. Anyway, we are your family. Just tell him you are not pregnant." Bianca held Kendra's arm and explained. "It's not necessary," Kendra said coldly. She still remembered how Robert cursed and bit her. Why did she bother explaining to him again? Robert heard Kendra's words and also felt a little angry. "Kendra, dad may make a mistake. But he is our dad. It took me some effort to let him come here. Just talk to him." Bianca urged. Hearing Bianca's words, Kendra sighed and said, "Let's go." Kendra and Bianca walked to Robert together. However, when Kendra stood in front of Robert, the first thing he asked was, "I heard you had an abortion." Kendra was pissed off immediately and glared at Robert. She had to bite her lips to control her anger. "Don't do such stupid things anymore," Robert said casually. He patted Bianca's shoulder and said, "Did you attend the lecture? I will take you to meet Michael later." "Dad," Bianca frowned and said, "Should you take Kendra? Kendra is his fiancée." "Bianca!" Robert glared at Bianca and warned, "What did I tell you? Mind your language." Kendra felt she was a stranger here. She clenched her fists and said, "I have to go." "Kendra!" Bianca called Kendra and wanted to let her stay. When Kendra turned around, a black Bentley stopped beside her. A man got off. It was Michael. They all felt surprised. "Mr. Miller." Michael greeted Robert and smiled. Somehow, Kendra stared at Michael and couldn't move. Robert glanced at Kendra and pulled Bianca closer to Michael. "How was the lecture?" He asked pleasantly. "It is good," Michael said. He looked at Bianca and asked, "Who is she?" "She is my daughter. Bianca, say hello." Robert answered immediately. "Hello," Bianca said awkwardly. "Hello," Michael said and shook hands with Bianca politely. Kendra felt so embarrassed, seeing them having a pleasant conversation. Robert didn't consider how she felt at all. She shouldn't be here. Kendra smiled bitterly and wanted to leave. At this time, Michael noticed Kendra, who's standing near them, and asked, "And who is her?"
