Chapter 86: A desperate June
When Ray saw the look of frustration on his grandson’s face, he was slightly taken aback. He wondered what he could be thinking about to have that look.
He knew his grandson well. No matter the issue, he was more composed than any other.
Soon, a gentle knock echoed through the office.
Ray recalled why he had called him over and adjusted his expression back to a solemn one.
“Come in,” Ray called, and the heavy door creaked open to reveal a young woman, no older than 26, poised at the threshold.
She exuded an air of confidence that hinted at a lineage accustomed to privilege and prestige.
Marcus recognized her instantly and felt a headache immediately descend.
“Ah, June Hayes of the Hayes Family,” Ray announced, his tone shifting to a warmth that suggested familiarity. “Meet my grandson, Marcus Hunter.”
Marcus inclined his head in acknowledgment, eyeing June, who with a polite smile, stepped into the room.
Her eyes briefly met Marcus’s before returning her attention to Ray.
