Chapter 184: Moving forward

“I agree,” Chloe replied softly, her voice filled with determination. “What do you suggest?” Richard paused for a moment, his brow furrowing with thought. “I can help you file a restraining order and a no-contact order against your mother-in-law,” he offered. “But first, we need to find you a safe place to stay.” Chloe nodded in understanding, grateful for Richard’s support. “I was thinking about going to my sister’s house for a while,” she admitted. “But she just got married, and they should be enjoying their married life. I don’t want to burden her.” Richard nodded in understanding. “I understand your concern,” he said. “But I have another option for you. I have an apartment that I can rent to you if you’re willing.” Chloe’s eyes widened in surprise at the offer. The idea of having her own place, away from the prying eyes of her mother-in-law, filled her with a sense of relief. “I’ll take it,” she said without hesitation. Richard smiled, relieved that she had accepted his offer.
