Chapter 224: Relentless Argument
The two walked to the end of the corridor, neither of them speaking first.
Nancy suddenly felt a bit uneasy. Her recent encounters with Daniel had been unpleasant, and now she was already fired.
She resisted the urge to turn around but couldn’t bring herself to speak.
She kept her head down but could feel Daniel’s gaze on her.
There wasn’t much to say. If Daniel could help, he would have done so already. Why should she continue to embarrass herself?
Nancy took a deep breath and was about to turn away when Daniel's voice came from behind.
"It seems you don't really care about your grandfather."
"Your pride is more important than anything, how laughable."
Nancy slowly lifted her head, straightening her back, and looked directly at Daniel.
"Pride is laughable, or have I not made you laugh enough? Do you find it funny?"
"Sorry, I don't have time to play games with you."
"Play games?" Daniel’s eyes were emotionless as he took a step closer.
"I gave you a chance."
