Amelia felt a knot tightening in her stomach as she sat by Emily's bedside in the hospital room. The beeping of the machines seemed to echo her worries. She glanced at Emily, who lay still, her face pale and peaceful in sleep. The weight of the situation pressed down on her, threatening to suffocate her with fear. Suddenly, the door creaked open, and in walked her friends, from her new business. It was the senegalese woman who had the same name as her daughter, Sarah and Ben, their faces etched with concern. "Hey, Amelia," Sarah said softly, placing a hand on her shoulder. "How are you holding up?" Amelia managed a weak smile. "I'm trying to stay strong," she replied, her voice trembling slightly. "We're here for you, no matter what," Ben chimed in, pulling up a chair beside her. "We'll get through this together." Tears welled up in Amelia's eyes as she felt the warmth of their support enveloping her like a comforting embrace. "Thank you," she whispered, her voice
