Chapter 214: A run in with the ex
Lisa walked briskly down the bustling sidewalk, the crisp autumn air nipping at her cheeks. She was on her way to the movies, looking forward to a solo night out. As she turned the corner, she nearly collided with someone coming from the opposite direction. She looked up and her heart skipped a beat—it was Greg.
"Hey, Lisa," Greg said, his voice hesitant but warm.
"Hi, Greg," Lisa replied, trying to keep her composure. It had been weeks since they had last seen each other, since their painful breakup.
Greg shifted awkwardly, running a hand through his hair. "Um, how have you been?"
Lisa forced a smile. "I've been okay. And you?"
Greg shrugged. "Same old, same old."
There was a moment of silence, filled with unspoken words and lingering emotions.
"Hey, listen," Greg said suddenly, breaking the silence. "I was wondering if you'd like to hang out for a bit. Maybe grab a coffee or something?"
