The man at the door had a cold and stern look on his face. He stared fixedly at Charlotte and calmly said, “Miss Green, we know you’re not selling paintings today. We’re here on Mr. Connor’s orders.” ‘Huh? So Zachary knows that I’m here…’ Charlotte immediately lowered her defenses. “Why did Zachary send you here?” The man continued staring at her face. “Miss Green, Mr. Connor has asked us to deliver an expensive gift for you. May we come in?” Charlotte’s curiosity was piqued, so she stepped aside from the doorway. “Come in.” The man walked into the gallery. Two other men followed closely behind him as he walked in.
