After a long day, Enrica had just gotten home when a WhatsApp message from Colin popped up. "Home yet? Was the bus crowded today?" She hesitated momentarily, then ignored it and put away her phone. But a few minutes later, her phone rang. When she saw Colin's name on the screen, she sighed before reluctantly answering. "Hello, Mr. Bourn. Is something wrong?" Colin's voice was warm and easygoing, like that of a friendly older brother. "No, nothing's wrong. You just didn't reply, so I got a little worried. I wanted to check if you were okay." Enrica forced a smile. "I was busy earlier. Didn't see the message." Colin asked, "Have you had dinner yet?" She had just walked through the door and hadn't even had time to eat. But after pressing her lips together for a second, she replied, "Yeah, I just finished." Lately, Colin had been unusually attentive toward her. She wasn't naive. She knew exactly what that meant. But she wasn't interested. Emotionally and mentally, she wasn't in a
