KIMBERLY'S POV
Lucas covered his face the instant Xavier had me wrapped up in his arms so tightly. His fingers were spread very far apart, however, with barely an inch of space between them through which he spooned pouting frowns.
And he turned around and disappeared.
I barely had time to glance at Lucas's downtilted face since I was already held tight in Xavier's arms. His hard, burning, obstinate, ruthless body over mine still surrounded by his arms.
My furious pound within my heart, racing in my chest.
That wasn't new.
Xavier would do that every time—every time he had me in his arms in that sloppy, enveloping hug that left me dizzily headspinning. Today was one such day. He wasn't hugging me, but holding on to me. But he was holding on to me like he never meant to let go of it.
