KIMBERLY’S POV The rest of the house was quiet, only the gentle tick-tick-tick of the giant clock way down at the far end of the hall interrupting the silence. Xavier was beside me, his huge body a warmth that seemed to radiate from him, his presence reassuring me that I was not alone here in the midst of the storm.
