23 Starting again

I tried to fall asleep again after abruptly waking up in the middle of the night, but I couldn’t. The voices of children crying and the shuffling and the footsteps of people wouldn’t let me. The mosquitoes wouldn’t give me a break, and it was so cold outside. I realized living under the bridge wasn’t going to be easy at all. I lay on the mat waiting for the day to get brighter and for Kenny to wake up. I had no plan of going to work. My boss would understand, after all he did demolish my house just a day ago. I got out of the tent and sat on a block besides the tent. The children were still crying, and others had frowns on their faces. They looked weak, hungry and unkempt.
